Overview

Bachelor’s Degree in Law is designed to provide learners with a broad foundation of legal knowledge and understanding, while developing the essential skills required for a successful career in the legal sector.

The qualification also offers opportunities for progression to higher-level legal study, including entry into the final year of a bachelor’s degree in law.

The range of qualifications within this sector aims to deliver the core legal knowledge necessary to support progression and contribute to preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

Entry Requirements

  • Entry to the qualification will be through a centre interview and applicants must be aged 18 or over

  • The applicants are normally required to produce two supporting references, at least one of which should preferably be academic.

Program Start Date

Admission periods for our partnering universities are usually January, May and July.* UK College Online’s schedule on the other hand is flexible meaning you can start whenever you are available.

Upon completing the program

  • Learners are awarded a Level 5 Extended Diploma in Law which is fully regulated and recognised

  • Learners can also step directly into employment.

Credits Obtained

  • Learners who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a total of 240 credits.

  • Core Legal Principles:

    Understand the principles governing the formation of legal agreements and the aims and general principles of criminal law.

  • Legal Frameworks:

    Understand the sources of law, the key features of the UK constitution, and the historical development and nature of Equity.

  • European and Property Law:

    Understand the rationale behind the creation of the European Union and the nature of interests in real property.

  • Law of Torts:

    Understand the nature and purpose of liability in tort.

Assessment

Students are required to complete related assignments at the end of every unit of the program.

University Top-Up

The final part of the programme will be completed online through our partnering universities. With this study method, students are able to complete their programmes in only 24 months, study online any time, anywhere that is suitable for them, through the Learning Management System (LMS) portal.
